When making your inventory list, walk around your home inside and out making a list of all of your items by room. Don’t forget the garage or the patio. Move prices depend on factors such as your itemized list, the zip code you are moving from as well as the one you are moving to. The price also factors on the floor you are on and if there are any special conditions that the movers need to know about. Moving slots are limited, so remember to do this in as far enough advance as possible to make sure you get the day and time you prefer.

Before the move, make sure that your headboards and footboards are detached from the beds, the mirrors are detached from the dressers, and the appliances that you are moving have all been disconnected before the movers arrive. To make the move as simple as possible, make sure all of your boxes are labeled. When the movers arrive, you can show them around so that they can do an inventory. Once this had been done, the movers can start their work.

Any glass or fragile pictures and paintings will be wrapped in either bubble wrap or padded blankets for protection. If you have any boxes marked fragile, let the movers know so that they can place these boxes in an extra safe area on the truck. All furniture is braced once it gets on the truck and wrapped in padded blankets for added safety.

If you have valuables such as jewelry, heirlooms, or anything that is extremely fragile, you need to let the movers know. You may want to move these items in your car if you can. This is the same for your pets. Always plan ahead a make sure that the animals are not in the way of the movers. You can put them in one room and rotate as the movers proceed. If Trading Places is storing your items long or short term, then we will take the load to our warehouses and unload. Here your household goods are stored in a well-insulated warehouse and will await your call for delivery to you. Please know that if you are storing items in the warehouse, that you do not store any type of food, cleaning supplies, or hazardous chemicals / elements.

When using our packing service, you can be sure that all of your items will be packed securely. We individually wrap every item for your protection. We can provide the packing supplies and boxes for you. Wardrobe boxes are also supplied for hanging clothes and fragile items such as lampshades.
